Lost property campaign

Kent Police is refusing to deal with lost property and is instead telling taxpayers to find it on Facebook.

Kent Police say reuniting lost goods with their owners is 'not a police matter' so from June, they'll be refusing to take in even valuable lost items such as wedding rings and medical supplies.

Instead, they'll be offering advice on how residents can find their own lost property using social media sites like Facebook and Twitter.

This flies in the face of public-spirited community values. Over the years countless Kent residents have been reunited with wallets, wedding rings, and other cherished items.

If, like me, you want to keep this vital service, please sign the petition below. With enough support our collective voice may force Kent Police to reconsider.

Thank you.
